Father Séamus T. Ó Séaghdha is a priest committed to accompanying couples in Massachusetts with openness, kindness, and deep respect. His ministry centers on creating a welcoming space where engaged partners—regardless of background or identity—can feel at ease and fully supported as they prepare for their wedding day.

Grounded in a pastoral approach that honors love in all its forms, Fr. Séamus works to offer ceremonies that reflect the lived experience of today’s Catholics. He gladly celebrates LGBTQ+ marriages, second unions, interfaith weddings and weddings for couples who may feel overlooked or unwelcome in more traditional settings. For those desiring a Catholic-Jewish ceremony, Fr. Séamus is able to request a Rabbi colleague of his to co-officiate. His goal is simple: that every couple receives a ceremony that resonates with their faith, values, and authentic selves.

Fr. Séamus holds a B.A. in philosophy from Boston College, a MDiv. in theology from St. John’s Seminary in Brighton, and a M.Ed. in mental health counseling from Cambridge College in Boston. He currently serves as pastor of Our Lady of Mount Carmel American National Catholic Church in Melrose, MA and Prior General of the Carmelite Missionaries of Merciful Love in Action.

Couples are invited to collaborate with Fr. Séamus to shape a ceremony that is personal and meaningful. He welcomes conversations about readings—biblical or otherwise—custom vows, cultural rituals, and any elements that express a couple’s unique story.

Fr. Séamus offers bilingual ceremonies (English–Spanish), as well as premarital and ongoing spiritual support to couples long after the wedding day.

As a priest in the American National Catholic Church (ANCC), Fr. Séamus is able to provide wedding ceremonies within the ANCC's Catholic tradition, however, neither Fr.
